WORKUM SUMMER INTERN 2015

Cincinnati Hillel requests the opportunity to host a Workum Summer Intern to work with Paula Harlan, Hillel’s Director of Student Life/Engagement and Brianna Pecsok, its Director of Careers Cincinnati (and a former Workum Intern).  The 2015 Intern would assist in the creation and implementation of community service, social, and Shabbat programs for college students throughout the summer.  The Intern would also meet individually with students to do outreach and engagement and to recruit for the upcoming programs.

Summer is a critical time for college orientation at the University of Cincinnati, its professional schools, and other area colleges.  The Workum Intern would join the engagement staff in designing effective ways to bring all the benefits of Hillel to the attention of incoming, first-year students through tabling on campus and other strategies.  This includes attending college orientations and interacting with the incoming students and their parents.  The intern would also work with the Careers Cincinnati Director to help implement programs designed for all the Jewish summer interns in Cincinnati.

The Intern will be involved in creating calendars, brochures and other marketing materials, as well as helping to maintain the Hillel website.  Hillel’s Intern will also be asked to consult with the other Workum Interns to identify potential opportunities for collaborations between Hillel and other agencies.

The Summer Intern of 2015 should be creative and organized, as well as skilled in data management and in Microsoft Excel and Word.  The Workum Intern is a full member of the Hillel staff and participates equally in staff meetings, administration, and professional development.  Hillel’s will also do its best to tailor initiatives to capitalize on the Intern’s personal strengths and interests to maximize his/her sense of achievement and his/her contribution to Hillel.

Cincinnati Hillel is a place that allows individual staff members to learn from each other and from the college students they serve.   It is a rich environment for personal growth.
