Workum Intern Job Description:

The Workum Marketing Intern will work directly with the Content Strategist and the Digital Marketing Specialist to solve new and challenging problems for the betterment of our clients. This collaborative environment gives all team members a voice when it comes to solving problems. We believe that nobody has a copyright on good ideas which is why we rely on our team members to participate in virtually all levels of decision making.

What you will probably learn:

  • How to create stories using digital communications
  • How to capture and produce videos
  • How to use a website Content Management System
  • How to use Cincinnati’s Community Calendars to get the word out about an event
  • How to track digital results using Google Analytics, Google AdWords, Facebook, LinkedIn, and Sprout Social and report results and new ideas to our marketing team.
  • We are a busy team, so you will have plenty of additional marketing communication-related opportunities!

What we require:

  • Background in Marketing, Communication, nonprofit management or other related discipline.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite.
  • Organized, with an ability to prioritize time-sensitive assignments.
  • Creative and flexible.
  • Familiarity with social networking sites desired, but we will also train.
  • Interest in learning new things and asking questions when needed

Desired Skills/Experience:

  • In-depth understanding on how to manage various social media platforms
  • Knowledge of Creative Cloud (i.e. Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, and Adobe Spark) and graphic design a plus
  • Knowledge of all things social media including best practices, analytics, and functions of each the platforms
  • Creative writing skills for social media
  • Independently proactive - you have the ability to understand what needs to get done and can self-manage as needed
  • Strong editing and proofreading skills

Some daily tasks could include:

  • Assist with content curation, sharing, and posting across multiple social media channels
  • Develop and produce digital video stories
  • Public Relations Community Calendar entries
  • Assist in developing and managing JFC’s overall social media strategy.
  • Assist in website updates for clients e.g. blog posts, community news
  • Assist in capturing digital analytics using Google Analytics and Sprout Social analytics
  • Research, develop, create, manage digital photo file archiving project
