Workum Internship – Summer 2019

Organization Description:

The Jewish Federation of Cincinnati envisions an exceptional Cincinnati Jewish community and, through the community-wide strategic plan Cincinnati 2020, brings diverse groups together to build it. We raise money and use a volunteer-driven, transparent process to distribute it to the local, national, and global programs that need it most. We connect our community agencies with the leaders and expertise they need to thrive. And we work to protect Jewish security by educating the community and advocating for Israel. We do all of this to help people in need, create an engaged community, assure our Jewish future, and support the Jewish people in Cincinnati, in Israel, and throughout the world.

Workum Job Description: Human Resources/Talent Management Assistant

SBS HR supports seven different agencies throughout the Jewish community with their human resource needs. 

Our intern would provide support and assistance in developing curriculum, coordinating training and meetings, developing tools, and

  • Help with summer camp onboarding for both JCC & Camp Livingston
  • Scheduling of interviews
  • Shadow interviews with recruiter
  • Matching job descriptions  to org chart roles, create a list of outdated descriptions
  • Audit of employee files
  • Create and or update orientation materials
  • Completing References for candidates
  • Assist with employee reference checks and background checks
  • Going through I-9s and background check files and removing termed employees
  • Assembling new hire packets
  • Shadow and assist with new hire orientation meetings and benefit overviews
  • Shadow various compliance requirements such as completing the EEO-1
  • Assist in completion, coordination of data and forms for employee files
  • Providing general administrative support to the team. 

The Talent Management program is building strategy and programs that support the Jewish Community agencies with their professional staff recruitment, retention, development, training, and succession planning.
Our intern would provide support and assistance in developing curriculum, coordinating training and meetings, developing tools, and providing general administrative support to the team.  

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education Major/Career Interests:

Interests in Business or Non-profit management, Human Resources, Organizational Development, Psychology.

Recommended Skills

The ability to coordinate with groups, plan, follow through, and communicate well verbally and in writing.  Strong interpersonal skills, ability to communicate with all levels of staff. Ability to keep information confidential.

Technology: Working knowledge of Microsoft office suite.
